Audronė Girdzijauskaitė

Audronė Girdzijauskaitė is a theatre scholar, art historian, and writer. She has been following the theatrical events for more than fifty years, seeking to cover various artistic fields. She has published several monographs dedicated to the issues and outstanding representatives of drama theatre, set design, and puppet theatre in Lithuania. She has explored the works of theatre directors such as Kazimiera Kymantaitė, Jonas Jurašas, Jonas Vaitkus, Vitalijus Mazūras, and the artistic interpretations of the plays by Henrik Ibsen on the Lithuanian stage. She taught History of Western and EasternTtheatre at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre as well as at Vilnius University. She has written more than 700 articles for various art and literature journals.
