Aušra Kaminskaitė received Association of Performing Arts Critics award of 2018

‘Text Key’ is a new annual award for the best performing arts critic of the year by Association of Performing Arts Critics. First award went to theatre critic Aušra Kaminskaitė, the author of the texts published in „menufaktura.lt“, „15min.lt“, „7 meno dienos“, „Nemunas“, „dance.lt“, „Kultūros barai“. Aušra Kaminskaitė usually writes about the drama theatre, contemporary dance and new circus. She received this years award not only for her professional articles and reviews but also for her inner passion in theatre criticism and critic‘s situation nowadays. The main question raised in her article „Critics Emigrants“ is what are the reasons that a lot of critics change their professions and stop writing about theatre. In her texts she is taking a role of social activist and critic.

The awards ceremony will be held upcoming January. At that time Association of Performing Arts Critics will also announce the winner of ‘Art Key’. This award will be received by an artist or producer for the best performance of the year.

The winners are chosen by members of Association of Performing Arts Critics and committee: professor and theatre scolar Ramunė Marcinkevičiūtė (the leader of committee), art scholar and dance critic Helmutas Šabasevičius, theatre scholar Rasa Vasinauskaitė, theatre critics Milda Brukštutė, Vaidas Jauniškis, Monika Jašinskaitė, Rūta Oginskaitė, Kamilė Žičkytė.

Association of Performing Arts Critics was founded in April of 2017. In 2018 Association became a member of International Association of Theatre Critics and is supported by Lithuanian Council for Culture.
