Audronė Girdzijauskaitė (b. 1938) – is a theatrologist, art historian, and a writer. She has been following the theatrical events for more than fifty years, seeking to cover various artistic fields. She has published several monographs dedicated to the outstanding representatives of drama theatre, set design, and puppet theatre in Lithuania. She has explored the works of theatre directors Kazimiera Kymantaitė, Jonas Jurašas, Jonas Vaitkus, Vitalijus Mazūras, and the artistic interpretations of the plays by Henrik Ibsen on the Lithuanian stage. She also was a lecturer of Western and Eastern theatre history in Lithuanian music and theatre academy and Vilnius University. She has written more than 700 articles for various art and literature journals.
