Jūratė Katinaitė

Jūratė Katinaitė obtained a master's degree from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. Since 2018 she has been studying for a PhD in Art Studies (supervisor prof. dr. Rūta Stanevičiūtė) at the academy. Between 1994 and 2020 she worked at LRT as a radio producer, program host and project manager of Euroradijas. She is engaged in music criticism, writing of reviews and essays, and participation in media projects. Since 2007 she has been a member of the Lithuanian Composers’ Union (LCU). In 2009 she was elected to the LCU Council and the Musicologists’ Section where she served two terms as the chair. Since 2017 she has been a member of the State Commission on the Lithuanian Language and a member of the Commission of the Lithuanian National Culture and Art Prizes. Since 2018 she has been a member of the Art College at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater. She was awarded Ona Narbutienė Prize for the monograph King is shaped by environment. Opera singer Vaclovas Daunoras (Karalių kuria aplinka. Operos artistas Vaclovas Daunoras, 2018). She has participated in the organisation of international conferences as a member of the program and organising committee. Scientific interests: interdisciplinary studies of opera and Soviet period.
