Ramunė Marcinkevičiūtė

Ramunė Marcinkeviciūtė – is a theatre scholar, a doctor of humanities and a professor at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. She researches 20th century theatre, the phenomenon of directing art, and the processes of contemporary European and Lithuanian stage art.
2002-2011 she was head of the Department of Art History and Theory of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, 2011-2022 – Vice-Rector for Arts. She is a member of various culture and art councils, expert on theatric art commissions, also a member of the Association of Stage Art Critics.
She has published the books “Eimuntas Nekrošius: erdvė už žodžių” (2002), “Patirčių realizmas. Dalios Tamulevičiūtės kūrybinės biografijos studija” (2011) and is one of the compilers and authors of the books “Contemporary Lithuanian Theatre. Names and Performances” (2019) and the collective monograph “Shakespeare’s Reception and Interpretation in the Baltics” (2023). Her texts on various theatrical issues have been published in Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Italy, Great Britain, Croatia, and South Korea.
