Rima Jūraitė is a theatre scholar, theatre and opera critic and freelance author. Since 2019 she has been the editor of menufaktura.lt, an internet site dedicated to performing arts. Over the course of theatre studies, she focussed on the criticism of drama theatre, at the same time studying and specialising in the opera genre. Since 2006 the author has published over 200 theatre-related articles in a number of culture magazines, newspapers and other media. The scope of her research encompasses both the classical opera scene (conceptual, auteur opera directing) and the contemporary music theatre (new opera). Rima teaches a course on opera dramaturgy and interpretation to theatre directing students at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
